Where to eat in Batumi: restaurants

Where to eat in Batumi: fish restaurants, the Adjarian boat khachapuri, and seaside terraces. Vetted places by the boulevard and in the old town.

In Batumi the food revolves around the sea and Adjara: fish restaurants, Adjarian khachapuri with egg and butter, cornmeal ghomi with cheese and pickles. By the boulevard and in the old town you get more tourist terraces and nightlife, but higher prices; a few blocks back from the sea it is calmer and cheaper for the same cooking.

One practical point: fish is often sold by weight here, so the bill depends on the size of the fish - ask the price per kilo before it goes to the kitchen. For the basic Georgian dishes and what Adjara is known for, see the guide to the cuisine; each place below shows the date we checked it.
