Fabrika Tbilisi: Old Factory Turned Bars & Cafe Courtyard

Fabrika is one of the most atmospheric hangout spots in Tbilisi and a textbook example of how an old industrial site turns into a hip urban space. It’s a former Soviet sewing factory in the Chughureti district, on the left bank of the Kura, that was reimagined in 2016 as a large cultural hub.

The heart of Fabrika is its spacious inner courtyard. Around it are bars, coffee shops and cafes, designer boutiques, workshops and studios, the walls are covered in graffiti, and a popular hostel operates in the building itself. By day people come for coffee and an unhurried vibe; in the evening the courtyard turns into one of the liveliest spots in the city.

There’s nothing in particular to “see” here - Fabrika is interesting precisely as a place to sit, have a coffee or a glass of wine, listen to music and get a feel for contemporary Tbilisi. Entry to the courtyard is free; you only spend money in the cafes and bars.
